  • Abstract
    In this study, it is aimed to evaluate the effect created by the augmented reality applications from the perspective of the students. In this study, the qualitative method was used to examine the opinions of the 7th and 8th grade students of secondary school on their augmented reality practices. This study was conducted with 7th and 8th grade students participating in Technology and Design course. Participants of the study consist of 43 students in the spring semester of 2016 -2017. Within the scope of the research, a form was prepared as a data collection tool for students to get feedback on the augmented reality. The survey found that the most frequently coded codes were to provide a fun learning environment and to make the learning process remarkable and effective according to the opinions of students comparing the course activities in traditional classrooms with the augmented reality applications. The students think that the use of the augmented reality exercises in the following lessons will make a positive contribution to the success of the course. However, there are also students who point out that the augmented reality will not contribute to the education process. According to the students opinions about the difficulties / challenges while using augmented reality applications, the most frequent “lack of smartphone ownership / access” was observed. It is Science that students think the use of augmented reality applications will be most beneficial.
