Abstract
Nowadays game-based learning is considered to be the best practice in education. Research and empirical data support teachers to use game-based applications in the classroom during the teaching process. Because it is proved that game-based applications motivate students in problem solving and critical thinking topics and consequently affect active participation, interest, attitudes and academic achievement regarding teaching process in a positive way. This research is a qualitative study in which the game-based FlipQuiz tool is introduced and applied to the prospective teachers by the researcher and its results are reported through making observation also by the researcher. The study group of research consisted 100 volunteers selected from the Gazi University Faculty of Education students studying in the departments of Turkish Language and Literature, Secondary School Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology Teaching during the 2018-2019 academic year. Based on the results, it was observed that the students had very positive opinions about the use of the FlipQuiz tool. It was also observed that the FlipQuiz tool contributed to the students cooperative learning and critical thinking skills.
