Abstract
The purpose of this research is to identify school principals’ views on technological developments in education and to determine their views on the use of educational technologies in education. For this purpose, face-to-face interviews were conducted with 10 lower secondary school principals working in Akşehir district of Konya. The present study was designed with phenomenological research design. Study findings revealed that teachers follow technology in education but teachers could not use educational technologies adequately due to systematic problems. School principals indicated that technology facilitates teachers’ work load, speeds up the learning process in school, and makes it more permanent. When the satisfaction of school principals regarding the work of Ministry of National Education (MoNE) was examined, it was indicated that smart boards are found sufficient, but their efficient use must be ensured and the amount of e-documents should be increased. In addition, school principals expect teachers to be willing to use technology, to develop themselves in following and implementing technological developments, and even to receive help from school administration if they need.
