Abstract
An important part of vocational education in higher education level in Turkey are performed via vocational schools. Today, the number of these institutions has exceeded one thousand. Student quotas in these institutions correspond to a significant proportion of students in higher education. Vocational training within the vocational schools should ensure that the professional skills of the students are at the expected level. The aim of this study is to evaluate vocational education from the perspective of faculty members, students and graduates of the vocational school. This study was conducted with qualitative techniques. A case study has been used that allows for a deep examination of a limited situation. The interviews with 15 participants, five instructors, five students and five graduates were recorded with voice recorder. After the obtained records were transcribed, the data were subjected to content analysis. According to some findings, the need to classify the vocational school institutions in the specified fields to guide the needs of the country. It has been revealed that the most important role in the realization of vocational education are teaching staffs. It was determined that the personal efforts of the teaching staffs came to the forefront. It was concluded that the professional practices were weak in number and quality. Lastly, it was revealed that some students were irrelevant to the lessons.
