  • Abstract
This study aims to evaluate the sixth grade science course exam questions according to the restructured Bloom taxonomy. The research was carried out with case study which is one of the qualitative research methods. Document analysis is used as data collection method. The sample of the study consists of a total of 26 exam papers prepared by sixth grade students in the sixth grade by 13 science teachers working in the center of a small scale province in the Central Anatolia region of Turkey. A total of 543 exam questions, 278 in the first exam and 265 in the second exam, were examined and analyzed according to the restructured Bloom taxonomy. The research data were calculated by using descriptive statistics and the obtained data were transferred to tables and graphs. According to the findings of the study, it was found that most of the exam questions were at the level of recall and comprehension, which is the cognitive process dimension of the renewed Bloom taxonomy, and the questions were mostly at the factual knowledge level. It is seen that the questions asked consist of multiple choice exams in general. The lack of open-ended questions revealing the students high-level skills draws attention. In addition, it was seen that teachers included questions such as gap filling, matching and right and wrong in their exams.
