Abstract
The aim of this research is to develop a model of Sun, Earth, and Moon which can be used in secondary school science lessons during the “Earth and Universe” subject area of Science Curriculum, to examine science teachers’ opinions about the developed model, and to examine how it can be used in lessons with a sample lesson plan. Case study, one of the qualitative research methods, was employed in the study. The research group includes 9 science teachers working in a secondary school of 20 classes in Çorum and a sixth grade with 30 students in the same school, in 2018-2019 Education Years. In the research, half structured interview form was used to get opinions of science teachers about the developed model, and an observation form was used to investigate how the model was integrated in a science course. Descriptive analysis method was used to interpret the obtained data. The results of the study showed that the developed model is a successful three dimensional pedagogical analogical model and the suitability of the prepared plan showed a good example of how the developed model can be used efficiently in the science courses.
