Abstract
This study aimed to examine the relationship between pre-school pre-service teachers self-efficacy levels towards science education and achievement goal orientations and to determine whether the achievement goal orientations differ according to gender and grade levels. Self- efficacy Scale for Pre-School Science Education” and Achievement Goal Orientation Scale were used as data collection tools. Correlation analysis, t-test for independent samples and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) techniques were used to analyze the data obtained in the study. It has been determined that there is a positive and moderate relationship between pre-service teachers self-efficacy towards science education and their level of adoption of learning goal orientation. It was found that there are positive and weak relationships between performance- approach and performance-avoidance goal orientation adoption levels and self-efficacy towards science education. In addition, it was determined that the achievement goal orientations adopted by the participants did not differ significantly according to the grade level. In terms of gender, it was determined that there was a significant difference only in terms of learning goal orientation, in favor of male students.
