  • Abstract
One of the development tasks to be carried out during adolescence is to take steps to plan the future. The concept of future expectation can be important in this process. The aim of this research is to examine the future expectancy and its relationship with psychological symptoms and academic achievement. In the analysis of the data, correlations and stepwise regression analysis were used to determine the correlation of the percent-frequency and psychological symptoms with other variables for descriptive statistics. Given the findings, it was found that semantic and successful academic achievement scores of the adolescents with the average academic achievement scores were significant. The predictability of the economic future dimension is also influenced by depression and anxiety symptoms, and the predictive value of social future is influenced by the indices of depression, anxiety, and discomfort severity respectively. Educational anxiety is also predictive of educational future and personal and professional future dimensions. Findings were discussed in the light of the literature and some suggestions were presented.
