Abstract :
Despite the current widespread preoccupation with microcomputers and small-scale, low-cost computing, there are certain kinds of scientific problems that appear to be solvable only through large computers. This, according to Seymour Cray of Cray Research, Inc., is the chief answer to the rhetorical question posed by the title of his COMPCON Spring 78 keynote speech, "Why Bother With Large Computers?"
