A procedure is described for designing a set of feed voltages for a given dipole array from the solutions to the

-plane synthesis of line source antennas. The method of moments is used in order to relate the feed voltages to the sampled values of a line source distribution. The feed voltages are determined in such a manner that the resulting

-plane pattern matches approximately that of an equivalent line source. As illustrations, Taylor\´s line source synthesis technique is extended to the

-plane synthesis of dipole arrays.
