Abstract :
The validity of two-dimensional models of power frequency eddy current problems is extended by embedding the two-dimensional field region in three dimensions. External regions are represented by lumped parameter circuit elements, thus allowing generalized excitations, some nonlinearities, and the interconnection of several field regions in one system. An illustrative example is given, together with details of the numerical solution.
