Abstract :
An electrostatic detector for measuring the lifetime of protons has been modeled in three dimensions. Linear hexahedral finite elements were used, and the potential was obtained at all nodes. The three components of the electric field were calculated and used to determine field lines and calculate drift fields and drift times. Effective aperture calculations agreed with the previous measurements
