Abstract :
Melt-spun ribbons of Fe76Pr16B8quenched at intermediate rates can show hign coercivities as prepared, with lower Hciat faster and slower rates. For any given wheel speed, the structure of such ribbons varies through the thickness because the cooling rate varies. The corresponding variation of Hcithrough the thickness can be demonstrated by etching the ribbons from one surface or the other.
