            Abstract : 
Spectral measurements of FM and AM noises of 1.3 ¿m InGaAsP DFB lasers are performed in the frequency range from DC to 3 GHz. The resonance behaviour of the measured spectra is compared with theory; the absolute value of the linewidth enhancement factor ¿ is determined to be 2.2 by very successful curve fitting between theory and the measured FM-noise spectra.
