Abstract :
A microstrip antenna fitted with a lossy radome is described which has the property of frequency selective interference suppression. A design formula is given for the radome which consists of an overlay of absorbing material separated from the antenna by a foam spacer and which can be fitted as an add-on for some fixed beam microstrip arrays. Measurements of a microstrip element and array are presented along with the absorption characteristics of the radome.
