Abstract :
We report on stimulated Raman multi-Stokes scattering and Raman amplification in slightly multimode fluoride glass fibres. Raman gain in excess of 40 dB has been obtained in an 18 ¿m-diameter, 10 m-long fibre with a pump power in the order of 1 kW.
