Abstract :
A brief history is presented of the Westinghouse Electric Corporation. The corporation was formed in 1886 to develop and market alternating current (ac) generation and distribution equipment, has grown and diversified to become a US$10.2 billion business manufacturing and marketing a wide range of products and services. A brief review of the company´s first century of existence illustrates the impact Westinghouse has had on the modern world.
