Abstract :
An analysis of a thin wraparound microstrip antenna is presented. Based on the cavity model and the equivalence principle, formulas for the far zone electric field are obtained by considering the equivalent magnetic current radiation in the presence of a cylindrical surface. The radiation patterns for the TM01 mode are in agreement with other results. However, its formula is much more compact than the others. Finally, numerical results are given to illustrate the effect of curvature on the radiation patterns.
