Abstract :
In previous issues of this column, a series of topics concerned with particular phenomena that affect the reliability of electrical insulation were discussed. But the author in this issue, because he has just returned from the CIGRE conference, will take a somewhat different approach and comment on some of the CIGRE activities and papers relevant to insulation reliability. CIGRE is the acronym for Conference Internationale Grande Reseaux Electrique or in English: International Conference on Large Electric Systems, specifically, the electric utility systems of the nations of the world. It is a formal organization with principal representatives appointed by the National Committees of each member nation.
