Abstract :
A resistive input impedance transmitting antenna system with a total dipole height of \\lambda /2000 instead of the conventional \\lambda /2 has been built and compared with a passive dipole of equal height. The active network-antenna combination is extremely broadband and is capable of working at frequencies well below those where inductively loaded passive antennas can readily be made.
