Abstract :
We present experimental data on the initial efficiencies of axial and transverse HGMS-filters with a periodically ordered wire matrix. The efficiencies were determined for particles in narrow size ranges by a photo-sedimentation analysis. We also compare the experimental data with the predictions of our recently developed multiwire theories for the performance of axial and transverse filters.
