Abstract :
Due to their magnetic properties, hexagonal ferrites are considered to be very promising materials for technological applications in the field of mm-wave frequency and for magnetic bubble memories. These applications require high quality crystalline materials. The latest results obtained in their preparation in the form of thin epitaxial films by LPE are reviewed. They show the feasibility of the process and indicate promising directions for further studies. The encouraging results and the still open questions are discussed.
