Abstract
The efficiency of distributed associative memories in which information is stored redundantly at the expense of memory efficiency, is addressed. The memory use efficiency is evaluated by calculating the mutual information transmitted through a binary symmetric channel (BSC) model, simulating the memorization/recollection process with an encoding/decoding process. Several modifications of the standard matrix-type associative memory that provide higher efficiency of memory usage are proposed
