Abstract :
The technical issues pertinent to direct broadcast satellite(DBS) reception are elucidated, dividing them into system and component-oriented subjects. The former include the relationship of DBS and TVRO (television receive-only) systems, TVRO technology, scrambling technology, PCM audio systems, MAC systems and HDTV. The latter are classified according to the path of the signal, that is, an antenna, LNB, and a receiver. Future trends are projected both for systems and components.<>
