Abstract
A magnetoelastic wave element using amorphous ribbons carrying the field induced anisotropy is proposed. The (Fe0.5 Ni0.5 )80 B20 ribbon is used in this element as a medium of MEW propagation and a change rate of delay of about 20 % at a frequency of 100 kHz can be obtained. The change rate of delay increases monotonically with increasing bias field lower than an anisotropy field Ha . This delay characteristic can be explained well by results from theoretical analyses.
