Abstract
Factorization theory forms the basis of a powerful new method for the design of linear control systems. Techniques which simplify the implementation of this approach are examined: in particular, it is shown that under certain conditions, the multivariable design problem may be divided into a number of smaller independent subproblems. A microcomputer design system employing these techniques has been used to solve substantial multivariable design problems
