Abstract :
New dispersion-flattened fibres having negative dispersion of about -8 ps/nm/km over the whole telecommunication band are developed. Transmissions with 10 Gbit/s directly modulated LDs over 51 km at 1275 nm and over 80 km at 1550 nm are realised without dispersion compensation.
