Abstract :
The response of a gamma camera is experimentally investigated as a function of two parameters, i.e., depth of the source in water and remaining distance in air from the gamma camera. The linearity of the full width half maximum (FWHM) resolution measure versus these two parameters is demonstrated. A method for experimentally estimating the parameters of any camera response model from the experimental data is presented. This approach is used to estimate the parameters of a 2D Gaussian model for the camera point source response in a true 3D formulation
