Abstract
The increasing complexity of processes and control systems has in many ways complicated the task of the operators in the process industries. An increasing amount of information must be dealt with to obtain a safe, stable, and economical operation of the plants. At the same time, the cost of unforeseen production interruptions is increasing. To ensure a competitive production the increased complexity calls for methods to support both the process monitoring and the operational tasks of the operator. This article discusses means for improvement of an important part of a cement plant process monitoring facility-the alarm handling system
