Abstract :
The design of input filter for the six-pulse bridge rectifier is discussed in this paper. It is shown that for industrial applications of mid power range, two types of filters with minimum number of components can meet most of operational requirements if designed properly. The variation of performance factors with filter type and parameters are discussed. The materials for custom-designing of the filter and the features and advantages of each type of filter are outlined. For comparison purposes, several design examples are also included.
