Abstract :
The construction of a concave acoustic lens using PVDF film is described. Acoustic images in the frequency range 30¿210 MHz have been obtained and the resolution approaches the diffraction limit. We conclude that the lens shows considerable potential for further development of the acoustic microscope as well as for several specific applications.
