Abstract :
Using the analytical model previously described by the authors [1],[2], magnetization transitions and transition lengths are calculated as a function of relevant physical parameters. When a probe head is used to record on a medium with a permeable under-layer, the readback voltage and the transition length are determined mostly by the head-medium separation. The calculated results agree with experimental observations of the variation of high frequency readback voltage with medium thickness.
