Abstract :
A design procedure is described which determines the minimum required volume and the optimum dimensions for a ferrite loaded loop receiving antenna. The frequency of operation, bandwidth, transmitted signal strength, desired signal-to-noise ratio, receiver sensitivity, and the relative permeability of the ferrite are required to determine the design. Useful approximations for flux averaging, demagnetization factor, atmospheric noise, and chassis loaded Q are given.
