Abstract
Detailed measurements at 10 GHz of the total loss cross-sections of simulated particles of spongy hail are presented and compared with modelled results. These new results allow a clear insight to be gained into the relationship between the electromagnetic-wave scattering behaviour and the physical states observed during melting
