Abstract :
The "Deutsche Bundespost" (German Federal Mail Service), in co-operation with several electronics companies, have installed experimental BIGFON systems in various towns of the Federal Republic of Germany (BIGFON is the German abbreviation for "broadband integrated optical fibre local communication network").
