Abstract :
We have developed a program to compute the electromagnetic fields of (a) TE and TM modes in resonant structures with constant cross section, (b) TE and TM modes not depending on the azimuth in resonant structures with cylindrical symmetry. For constant cross section structures the infinite length case (wave guides) is allowed as well as the finite one. The appropriate parameters of interest for the designer of RF devices are supplied in each case. The program makes use of a finite difference method on square meshes carefully dealing with both Dirichelet and Neumann conditions on curved boundaries. Some results from a test of accuracy and some examples from actual work are reported.
