Abstract :
In this paper the authors discuss two general approaches for the establishment of grids to be used in connection with the analysis of electrical and magnetic fields via the finite elements method. The first approach is associated with specific applications, and is called the ´rubber-mesh approach´ : its special features and the relevant advantages are discussed. As regards the second procedure: the ´self-adapting mesh´ steps to construct the mesh are described, and the limits of its validity are discussed.
