Abstract :
A special coded identification signal transmitted on line 16 of the vertical interval along with the program enables an automatic video program identification. Receiving equipment (i.e. VCR) with VPS circuitry can be activated automatically when the proper VPS code is found. A VPS decoder IC for applications in VCR and TV receivers is decribed.
