Abstract
Several Fe-Nd-B alloys have been rapidly solidified in one processing step to bulk form using liquid dynamic compaction (LDC). Using this process grain size from 1 to 20 microns are achieved and oxygen content is kept below 700 ppm in the final product. In contrast to our earlier LDC results where heat treatment was required to optimize intrinsic coercivity, Hci values in excess of 10,000 Oe are exhibited here in the as-LDC´d samples. The critical difference appears to be the elimination of cobalt in the present composition.
