Abstract :
A methodology for including generators as PV buses in a Newton-Type harmonic power flow program is presented. The construction of the Jacobian for the generator and its insertion into the network equations is described in detail. The method does not require an iterative procedure for satisfying the generator constraints and preserves the quadratic convergence characteristics of the Newton approach. Examples and comparisons with the iterative scheme of sequential PQ representations for generators are provided.
