Abstract
The correlation matrix method, which is introduced to analyze finite phased-array antennas, involves the cross-correlation integrals of the elements´ electric fields and automatically includes both mutual-coupling and edge effects. A matrix is deduced with elements composed of scan-independent correlation integrals multiplied by relative phasing factors. The inversion of the matrix gives the reflection coefficients for the different elements. The method is applied to an array of narrow slots and, for large arrays, the results are compared with those obtained using infinite-array models.
