  • Abstract
    In order to develop new possibilities for HDTV (High Definition Television) field production, we proposed the electron optical combination of the MS (Magnetic-focus Electrostatic-deflection) type focusing and deflecting system with a diode-gun having ultra high resolution capability. On the basis of high voltage operation, which is advantageous to the improvement of resolution capability, the optimal design concepts for both the MS system and the electron-gun were established, and a high performance and compact 2/3-inch MS type Saticon was successfully developed.
