  • Abstract
    A unified database for data exchange among field computation and CAE (computer-aided engineering) programs is presented. The integrated system is demonstrated using there established field computation programs, Flux3d, Phi3d, and Trifou, the solid modeller Geomood, and the mesh generator Supertab. First, the motivation for interfacing these programs is explained. Next, various interfacing mechanisms are examined. A unified database for data exchange is then developed, and finally an example of data transfer using the unified database is illustrated. Initial results are very encouraging and showed the feasibility of program integration and data exchange through a database
