  • Abstract
    A new principle for preparing inexpensive high-accuracy plugs in the field using a precise reference-shape fixture is described. These plugs can be used to make optical-connection systems such as fibre-to-fibre connectors, distribution frames and multifibre connections with losses between 0.1 and 0.5 dB.
