Abstract
A derivative continuous quadratic triangular element is introduced for the finite element computation of two-dimensional magnetic field problems. This interpolant may be used directly for magnetic field analysis or it may be used to provide smoothing for conventional finite element solutions. It requires only the function and first derivatives values at the vertices of the element and is therefore considerably simpler than previously developed C interpolants that are based on cubics.
