  • Abstract
    Two novel systems for synthesizing three-phase sine waves with a combination of two units, using multiple phase-shifted single-phase resonant inverters, are proposed. The first system has the advantages of both a high-frequency resonant inverter and a high-frequency AC link. The second system has the advantage of a high-frequency resonant inverter. The structure and operating principles of both proposed systems are described and their features are compared with those of a conventional 12-step inverter. The simulated and experimental results show that the proposed systems have excellent characteristics and give high-quality output waveforms
