  • Abstract
    Modal power distribution is an important characteristic of optical fibres. Under the assumption that modes belonging to the same degenerate mode group carry the same amount of power, simple expressions are derived relating near-field intensity and modal power distribution in ¿-exponent index-profile optical fibres.
