Abstract :
With a technique not requiring matrix inversion, the current distribution induced on a straight thin wire by an incident plane wave or a nearby sinusoidal dipole is determined. The wire may have any length exceeding 0.05\\lambda and any finite conductivity such that the radius is equal to or greater than the skin depth.
