Abstract :
Cochannel interference is not usually a Gaussian process, but it would be both theoretically and practically convenient if it could be considered to have the same effect as Gaussian noise on data transmissions. The letter describes measurements and simulations which show that this is indeed a useful approximation in evaluating the effects of HF interference on phase shift keying.
