Abstract :
Several schemes for improved A/D conversion using optics have recently been described. Here it is proposed and demonstrated that optical techniques can also provide D/A convertors of at least 8-bit accuracy which are small, cheap and rugged, and which are potentially capable of operation at many GHz.
